Buying: Ron Hill's "The Long Hard Road" (both volumes)

    I need to replace both volumes of Ron Hill's autobiography, "The Long Hard Road" ("Part One: Nearly to the Top" "Part Two: To the Peak and Beyond"). I owned copies years ago, but lost a box of books in a move. I've replaced most of the others, but it's time to replace Hill's books. I haven't read them in years, but, at the time, this was my favorite athletics-related biography.

    I'm mostly interested in the hardcover editions, but I'll consider the paperbacks. I'm not really interested in reading copies (i.e., in bad shape). I'm more interested in collectible copies in fairly good condition, and I'm expecting to pay for such.

    , but, in this case, the books are pretty expensive.

    Looking elsewhere, I can't find a place where the book is sold at an affordable price.

    Interlibrary loan gets you the book to read, but you're obviously looking to own it. Good luck.

    Thanks for the link. Bookfinder looks like it could be useful. I use Albiris and Abebooks anyways.

    Basically, I've already looked up the copies Bookfinder found. If I don't come up with something else, I'll buy one of the copies of the second volume. I'm really looking more for the first volume. Amazon UK, the book search services, etc. only list one copy, but it's paperback and maybe more damaged than I'm hoping for. I'm kinda hoping maybe someone will have both hardcovers together for sale for a few hundred.

    BTW, price isn't an issue. I'm assuming I'll probably end up paying at least $150 for both books. Probably more than that, when all is said and done.

    Thank you for reminding me - I have just bought Volume One in paperback on Amazon UK, cost me $80, but it’s worth it.

    Read it a long time ago and it was a great a read of a ‘bona fide’ runner I have ever read.
