Suit World Record Only 3:24? What About Gary Fanelli?

Clicked on this link on the homepage about this guy failing in his attempt at the WR for a marathon in the suit. It says some Irish guy has the record at 3:24.

In the 1980s, Gary Fanelli run multiple marathons dressed as one of the Blues Brothers (i.e., wearing a suit)? He was a 2:15ish marathoner so I am sure a 26.2 mile training run for Gary would have been faster than 3:24. Does anyone know the times that Gary ran dressed in a suit?

I believe he ran 2:25 goofing around at least once...not sure if it was when was dressed as a New York Yankee carrying a ball and bat, or if it was when he was Chester Polyester, or if it was dressed as Elwood. Gary could barely break 2:00 for 800m if I recall, but damn he had a marathon PR of 2:14 or maybe better.

His brother Mike posts here occasionally - he'll know for sure.

The Swiss guy that used to run dressed as a waiter and carrying a ottle of bubbly could easily eat that.
