@german_ferndz holy shit kid!!
Wow.
This is impressive. He beat a couple good names too.
The US has cranked out quite a number of A standard 1500m times in the last year.
This is amazing. So much talent.
German finally drop his balls and took them out on the sun to get a little tan great time!!! Watch out Al Sal runners there is a new sheriff in town!
Yeah, this is a guy who ran 13:25 four years ago. If he stays healthy and loads on the volume/threshold training, watch the f@ck out!
Link to a video?
Splits for German?
German's interview maybe if there was one?
Oh, and, G MONEY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 1500 is absolutely his best event. Do I think it should be or will be? Probably not, but it is right now and it always has been.
I was at the meet and when German dropped to the back I though oh too bad to have an off day on this your 1st big stage in Europe. But then when I saw that the leaders went through 800 in 1:50-51 and German was about 1:55 I thought he must be running for his life and just hanging on. Less than a lap to go he looked good and started to kick and coming into the last straight went wide and passed a few people. A very solid race
Great post-race interview on Flotrack! He's in shock. He doesn't consider the 1500 his event, and has been just doing it to develop speed for the 3K and 5K. Will be running the 3K in Reiti in a week.
Said he was feeling good and had a bit left. 3:34 flat potential?
im going with low 7:40s for 3k
yeah this is over the top. calm down. go for a long run to wear yourself out and then take a cold shower.
A fresh start for GF!
I wrote in another post it would be nice for GF to get to 3:35 or 3:34....and he did.
I can't wait to see the video of the race. The post race interview was great.
And he said he felt so good at 300 and 200, but was afraid to go. He can go under 3:34.
While this is a great time for him, and hopefully a nice confidence booster as he starts his professional career, what really matters is COMPETING. I think people tend to forget that. Take a look at Lagat. He almost never focuses on running a really fast time but on winning. That's why he was so successful (not as much now because he's 37). Tegenkamp and Centrowitz are also very good RACERS. More runners need to focus on racing and competing and not time trialing every time they are in a race. Don't get me wrong, this seems like a really solid breakthrough race, but he needs to learn to race and compete well for wins before we can ever really expect any sort of US championship.

He was passing people in the homestraight, so he was racing. And he was pacing himself throughout the race, so he was making decisions that would put him high in the placings.
He raced great, but come on, did you really expect him to beat the likes of nixon chepseba??? On his second pro race?????????????
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
