Ahead of Wheating and Torrance.
*Brannan*
you were correct the first time
Damn. I thought so, but the results threw me off.
Brannen is Canadian, last I knew.
Its a new Canadian record. Nate was obviously really eager to prove himself after getting tripped up in the 1500m semis at the Olympics.
Its a real shame that he fell in that race, he was clearly in great shape.

4 starters 3 finishers All born in 1988.
Good race though it seems.
I think it's fair to say Wheating is done.

All the men in the 1000 were listed as being born in 1988 too so it seems like they just made a mistake
actually a nice result for wheating, just ahead of torrence and a second back of willis and brannen, who's really turned it around this year after years and years of injuries. way back, brannen was a threat to break 4 at 18, like willis, in webb's year.
Unfortunately they didn't show more than this on TV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfMfmX2Ppj8
Brannen did break four the same year Webb did, shortly before he turned 19. He was finished high school at that point however.

Webb and Brannen finished high school at the same time, and broke four in the same summer. Brannen's a year older, though (well, four months older -- Webb was born in Jan 83).

Webb actually broke 4 indoors before the summer first though
2:16:52 for 1000m? Good God, what happened?
Nick Willis missed the new zealand record by .01

Look out for the guy who won this race(Mark my post). He could become a contender in the next year or two.

Could just be me, but does this 1000 by NB make anyone else wonder what would've been if he didn't fall in London? After watching him in the 1500 at the Canadian OT (admittedly, it was a very slow pace, but he looked insanely fit), and then seeing him beat Willis here..I don't know..maybe he would've been swallowed up in the 1500 Olympic final like Willis was, but I wouldn't put a top 5 finish past him if he had made the final, and was able to put himself in position for that brutal last 100m. I know it's all hypothetical "shoulda woulda coulda" stuff but I think he would've done well in that final.
Of course, he would have one well!
I predict a canadian record (yes, Sully's record) in the 1500m before the end of the season!
