In early May I severely sprained my ankle and was out for the remainder of the HS outdoor track season. I'm now starting to work out again to get in shape for the upcoming cross country season. In late June I tried to run 10 minutes a day, every day, but after three days I could barely walk. Now I'm running 2 miles a day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays while biking for an hour on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, Sunday I take off. I do ab workouts 6 days a week and push-ups and pull-ups on the days I run. I don't have access for a gym or any hi-tech equiptment. Does anybody have any advise on what else I could do to help me get ready for the season. Bullshit meets and some fun invites start in mid-September, important meets don't start until after Oct 20.
I was planning on adding a half mile to my run every week, right now I'm running about 6:30-6:45 a mile, do you think it would be better to ask distance or just increase my pace?
Thank you for your time.
