The Nimbus is a cushioned shoe for neutral to mild overpronators. The Empire is the replacement for the Creed, a stability shoe for forefoot pronators. The fit and function differently. You'll need to decide what you need.
the empire and creed similar?
what the? the creed was really stiff and rigid, when i looked at the empire it seemed like i could fold it in half and put it in my back pocket.
im not a shoe expert or anything, so i dont' get it

The Empire is, in fact, an update of the Creed. However, the upper is much more comfortable and softer, the ride of the shoe is much more flexible forward, yet the Twist Gel under the ball of the foot and the forefoot cradle surroinding it make this shoe the best on the market for anyone with forefoot varus deformitites. It's the most advanced shoe in the ASICS line (though certainly not a shoe for everyone) and a much better fitting shoe than the Creed.
The new Nimbus is a well cushioned shoe that also updates the fit very well. Its forefoot twist Gel in conjunction with its "space trussic" midfoot support give it a superior ride forward for a neutral runner. Easy shoe to run in.
The preceding posts have been brought to you by the fun folks from the Asics marketing department.
who best to get a reply from. Could be a rep. Whats wrong with that.
Get both and work it out from there. The Empire may be better on your longer slow runs and the Nimbus on your faster shorter runs. I have the new Nimbus and I can say they are great, much better than previous models - but the Empire does feel fantastic, it was just that my size was out of stock went I went into my store to get them.
Then again, you could buy some Onisuka 81's, minimalist stylee and look like a complete c**t!
