    That list drives home what an unbelievable Olympics this was as far as quality goes. Subjectively, I'm not as impressed with the 400 or the vault. There's just something about having watched guys do 20 or more years ago.

    Yeah, that's a joke. These calculators always underrate the 800m. They've been telling us we "should have seen" sub-1:39 800m times for decades now. It hasn't happened for a reason.

    Pretty much agree.

    For me Rudisha's performance (as opposed to just time) is far and away the greatest in London. In 100m you run as fast as you can for just under 10 secs, and so the winning times in an Olympics is always going to be super fast.

    In an 800m it usually comes down to tactics. To run from the front as fast as you can from gun to tape is extraordinary.

    I also don't really think you can compare team performances in relays to individual efforts. I agree that Amos's time should be ranked higher, but it's worth remembering that he had total drafting to 600m, which would have made his time 0.5 better than otherwise.

    Where was the men's 5k??? Are you saying that wasn't a quality performance?
