Career Highlights: 2003 USA Outdoor Champion; 2002, 2003 USA Indoor champ
Lunn captured his second career national championship by winning the 2003 USA Indoor mile title over fellow Stanford alum Michael Stember by a half-second margin, and then added the outdoor title as well. Lunn won his first national title by winning the 2002 national indoor mile crown. He enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2000, finishing 2nd in the mile at the U.S. Indoor Championships and 4th in the 1500m at the U.S. Olympic Trials. After running 3:45s throughout 1999, Lunn served notice of what was to come in 2000 when he ran 3:40 in Canada late in the season. Lunn had the opportunity to make the U.S. Olympic Team by making the Olympic ‘A’ standard following the Trials. He bettered the standard of 3:36.80 with a PR of 3:36.74 in Zurich, but was bumped off the U.S. roster when his former Stanford teammate Michael Stember, who finished 3rd at the Trials, bettered the standard later in the season.
