The NBC Olympics page indicates she split 47.8. I didn't see the race. Is that an accurate split?

Yes, you are. How in the hell could you be disappointed in and not proud of the women? They CRUSHED the competition in the 4x100 with a WR time, and CRUSHED the competition in the 4x400. They went 2-4-5 in a 100m race where 3rd and 5th were separated by 0.08 seconds. They took 1st and 3rd in the 400m; They went 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the 100m hurdles; they went 1st and 3rd in the 200m; and 2nd in the 400m.
From the running events alone the US women racked up 10 total medals: 4 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze.

Whoever did the splits made an error that most rookie coaches make. The split from the first to second runner should be taken at the 1 bend stagger line, not the 400m start line. After taking the splits myself (properly), you should take off about .8 from Trotter's time and add .8 to Felix's split.
