Sean Krinik was the top 800-meter runner in the nation in 2010, capturing the high school national championship with a win at New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina in a time of 1:49.54 ... named the Gatorade Boys Track Athlete of the Year for California ... posted the fastest time by any high school athlete by more than half a second as he defended his California state title in a PR of 1:48.20, which ranks as the eighth-fastest time ever by an American prep.

You're not a very good LetsRun reader.

Krinik was at Washington for two years, so this is PROOF (as I channel the spirit of LR) that Greg Metcalf is a terrible coach who can only recruit talent.

Krinik was so damaged by Metcalf that he left the Pac12 for a school that's so far down the food chain that he'll have to pay for his own shoes.

Outside the feverswamps of LR - Krinik arrived at Washington damaged by his HS program that took his enormous physical talent and had him run big big miles without teaching him how to run correctly.

And he lives a few minutes from the CSUF campus, so there may be a girl friend in the mix.

The CSUF coach is no good plain and simple. I would love to see Krinik do well but going to Fullerton only hurts his chances of doing this. I also believe that Krinik's presence will be then end of their distance coach. He now has a huge talent that will likely never PR only exposing the coaches inabilities. Bottom line, good luck and I hope I'm wrong.
