What would Tyson Gay run in the 400m?
awesome
I rescind earlier comments about his poor performance I made somewhere on this message board. Please take note of that.
So if Merritt is hurt, and Wariner is hurt, and Mitchell is hurt, can the USA run in the final? Can they through Spearmon out there?
I think anyone on the USA roster can run in a relay. The relay pool is for athletes that did not qualify for other events but can run relays. The question is who do they go with? One of the 400 hurdle guys or Spearman. Guessing Taylor.
What could soloman run?
Rupp
Eaton?
Put Symmonds in there

angelo taylor is the only remaining member of the team with international-level 400m relay experience - he was part of the gold medal team at 2011 worlds.
It will be Taylor. He has ran 44.97 this year and that was three months ago. And since he cracked into the 47s again in the 400h I think he is in good form.
Has also been on several USA 4x400 teams where he consistently splits low 44 or high 43.
Wow, almost as ballsy as Max King.
Angelo Taylor has FOUR 4x4 gold medals from the Olympics/WCs. He will definitely be on the relay in the final. Heck, they might even put him on the anchor, leaving McQuay (the best leg in the heat) on third to give them a lead.
Taylor has run 44.0x for 400 flat and 44.97 this year. Tinsley ran faster in the hurdles final but has a very modest 400 flat PR of 46 or so. Spearmon is a very remote possibility but only if Mance (sub 45 split), Nellum (sub 45 split) or McQuay (sub 44 split) is injured between now and the final.
Patriot?

Now that is an impressive performance! This is the type of performance that is inspiring to runners, as opposed to the British runner who tore a hamstring in the 1992 Olympic prelims for the 400m and hopped his way to the finish.
Balls of steel.
If the US wins gold someone make a fifth medal for Mitchell.
Dude deserves a medal for that kind of performance.
He would get a medal for participating in the preliminary round wouldn't he? I thought that was normal protocol.
Patriot? For f's sake, how nauseating.
Eaton pre dec would be interesting. Spearmon too. Solomon too slow.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
