wow!
wow!
Guy took it out wire to wire. Undisputed GOAT
He ran it like a time trial.
NO commentary on the NBC feed. The first time I've really appreciated the fantastic noise in the stadium.
How about Symmonds going sub 1:43.
Props!

yeah but duane solomon beat him. still both very very good. most amazing 800 race ever
Looks like the majority of the field hit a PB in that race!
Too bad for Symmonds. No Medal. And Paris won't date a loser.
There is commentary on the NBC feed. I watched the race live. You're watching the wrong feed. (Watch the T&F Main Feed for the commentary, not the Track Feed)
How about running 1:42 and change and being out of the medals! lol.
Also, what about Nijel Amos. Insane run for an 18 year old. Also, doesn't necessarily indicate that it can really be improved, but his form isn't the prettiest.
Overall, pretty incredible race for an olympic final. Wouldn't really expect something like that from anyone but Rudisha.
he is not 18 obviously, but his form can indeed be better.
What are the place records for 1-8, and did they all just get broken in one race? How would you like to run 1:43.7 and be dead last?
Kaki was the only person in the final not to set a personal best.
1. Rudish 1:40.91 (world record)
2. Amos 1:41.73 (world junior record)
3. Kitum 1:42.53(PB)
4. Solomon 1:42.82 (PB)
5. Symmonds 1:42.95 (PB)
6. Aman 1:43.20 (National record)
7. Kaki 1:43.32 (SB)
8. Osagie 1:43.77 (PB)
What an awesome run for Amos! Great form, great style.
3rd all time, including easing off the last 10 meters. Amazing!
Rudisha's unbridled joy at the finish is refreshing to see.
What a contrast from his mellow meek serious expression at the start.
What a race! Everyone except Abubakar Kaki was pulled to a new PB! The all owe King David for pacing them to new heights! I am sure their respective federations will not complain that they didn't win any medals since they all ran faster than they have ever run before.
It seems that there was a "best time for place" for all eight runners.
1:41 for 2nd. Still getting gapped on the final straight. Times have changed...
Could the record be affected by the great tartan field that is made for these olympics?
If so, thats sad. We don't need faster tracks, we need equal tracks.
Only a tenth of a second pr for Rudisha
but a wire to wire front run
give him a rabbit, 140.5
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
