True story. They had been informed about the injury pre-race, it sounds like his training has been hampered the last few weeks.
So basically if ANYONE keeps the pace honest for the finals Kiprop is in major trouble. Ok - WHO was this source? This might be the biggest ploy in the history of olympics.
I just called Weldon in London and he said Kiprop didn't say anything to him about an Achilles problem. Maybe i'll email my friend in Kenya.
Kenya paper reporting it's a slight strain of hamstring.http://www.capitalfm.co.ke/sports/2012/08/05/kiprop-kiplagat-chepseba-in-1500m-finals/

“I have a slight strain with my hamstring but there’s nothing to worry about,” Kiprop said at the Mixed Zone without delving further on the issue that will give the chasing pack to his title renewed hope they can topple him.

I'M GETTING MIXED MESSAGES HERE!!!
I like how Masbach is saying he's vulnerable, but neglects to mention the 3:28 he dropped like two weeks ago.
Why are you listening to the guy who said Kiprop would never make it in this sport?
