Well it is actually anti-racist. He is not getting extra credit for being white or non-African. This is an Olympics where the United States is going to get a lot of medals, many of which are gold. Most black pages have been for record setting performances or true legends.While Rupp's performance was impressive, it is more so only impressive because he is white and because America has sucked at the 10k since 1964. He did not break a world record, he did not break the American record, and he did not get a gold medal.

No. The USA will not get many T&F gold medals. Or Silvers. Or Bronze. This is a running website and Rupp definitely deserves the black page. Brojos just hate Rupp and wont give it to him
I seem to remember Centrowitz getting a black screen for a bronze at a world championships. This is much more significant.
Centro was still in college... younger makes him cooler

It's quite far back but I seem to remember a black screen for Meb or Deena in 2004.
Or maybe it was Meb's NYC win.

But the first winner of an Olympic 10,000 medal for the US in over 50 (!) years does. I'm guessing in this case though, it has less to do with disrespect, and more to do with the fact that the brojos were preoccupied covering all the other Olympic action, and perhaps didn't want to sabotage the entire home screen when there are so many casual visitors to the site during the Games. And it's not like Rupp hasn't received a black screen before. Last year when he ran 26:48 I'm pretty sure they had one.
Actually, it's been 48 years, not "over 50" since we got a 10,000 medal. It's actually been 48 years for either 5000 or 10000, whereas we got a 1500 medal 44 years ago. We did also get a steeple medal 28 years ago (anyone remember this?)
If the AR in the Steeple last month didn't get one, I am not surprised Rupp doesnt get one for second place. I forgot they gave one to Centro for third though.
The fact that they gave a black page to Centrowitz last year makes them look downright petty not giving one to Rupp.
I have lost all respect for black pages. They are too random and biased. The brojos obv don't like Rupp.
