Great decision, and preserves the chance of a Kenyan sweep. Undoubtedly he will be more careful entering that last lap either to be on the outside of lane 1 or on the shoulder of someone, so as to not get stuck.
that's BS
Total bull$hit.
what happened?
well i am glad he is back in, he is my pick to win.
How is this a great decision Jimmy? It makes no sense and its absolutely not fair. He tripped over himself and screwed up the last 200m. This is crazy!
He ran like an idiot, got clipped from behind a couple of times and they reinstated him. Typical IAAF decision when it comes to Kenya.
It was funny that Nick Willis admitted on the BBC that he actually planned to box Chepseba in coming into the last lap in order to make him panic and have to make a crazy move. It worked.
The IAAF caved.
From what I saw, he did not trip over himself. He was running in the pack and he got clipped twice and nearly went down. They weren't really inadvertent either, it didn't appear. Looked like some over aggressive running, and a few guys who wanted to sneak through instead of find a real gap or go wide.

Wrong decision in my opinion. It goes with the territory. He never fell, was not clearly and deliberately impeded, and it perhaps cost him a couple of metres. He had another 250-300m to get back into it. Someone of his calibre should have had no problem getting into the first 6 at that pace and from that position.
If it had been an athlete from another country and not one of the favourites, I doubt they would have reinstated him.
He ran about as tactically poor as one could expect from a 3:29 1500 meter runner. He was in the lead nearing the 1200 - he should have stayed there. Instead, he drifted back into the pack, almost tripped, then charged around the third lane, then could not settle in with the pack, and tripped again. Given that he much faster than most all of the runners in that race, nothing he did made any sense. It is odd to reward him, frankly.
Nick Willis said they had a plan to eliminate one of the Kenyans, he even explained how he did it.
The German guy ran up the back of him with 220-230 to go and he almost went down. It completely killed his momentum. He was clearly impeded. It affected Centro significantly as well because he had to pull up and go way wide.
If you want to say that this was standard 1500 contact, fine. Just don't say that there was nothing significant that happened. There was. That said, the IAAF could have said "standard 1500 slow race contact, sorry Charlie". They didn't.

He did it well though. All he did was box Chepseba in and Chepseba reacted by panicking and running like a moron.
Willis should feel hard done by if Chepseba takes his medal.
Willis said it was intentional,

It was absolutely intentional. But all Willis did was run alongside him, he didn't touch him.
He said he wanted to box him in so that he had to make a crazy move. Running alongside someone is perfectly fair. I appreciate you're not too bright though.
Thanks for the compliment
It really isn't smart for him to be talking about how he intended for that to happen to Chepseba. Even if Chepseba hadn't been instated, the other Kenyans would be really gunning for him after that, and now Chepseba will also be around to go after him as well.
Madness. Chepseba tried move in front of the German before he'd fully gone past him. The German didn't move or change pace. Chepseba just cut in where he wasn't really entitled to be. It was entirely his own fault.

moron
it doesn't matter whether he is 3'24 or 3'44 calibre
he got unjustly fouled & deserves a 2nd chance
that rule obviously applies to anyone in any of 3 heats who feel they also got fouled
i don't see any else who missed out appealing ???
