I am setting a goal to run 2:10 in the 800m with as little training as possible. I am thinking my timeline will be about 2 months.
I am doing this because I am very interested in goal setting and how I can reach a goal as efficient as possible...so I want to run a 2:10 with as little work as possible and I plan to document all my workouts.
I ran in high school and part of college. In high school I was pretty good but not spectacular. I ran 22.0 in the 200m, 50 in the 400m , 2:06 in the 800m, and 4:40 in 1600m. I focused on the 400m in college and ended with a 48 400m.
So I was a solid runner, but not amazing. The last time I ran competitively in college was 3 years ago...so I am not in shape right now, but not fat at all.
What do you guys think is the best way to accomplish this goal?
I am thinking very little traditional distance running. I would like to do it with three workouts a week. Something like 8x200m, 5x400m, and 10x100m. My goal is do this as simple as possible so I would like to create 1-3 workouts and just do those over and over again.
All thoughts welcomed!
