What was the last world record set without a rabbit?
What was the last world record set without a rabbit?
Usain MF BOLT 19.19 200m
Sorry I should have clarified.
Last distance (800m-marathon) world record
Wilson Kipketer 800m World indoor record 1997
Decathlon was more recent anyway.
Thanks so much!
Would you happen to know the same for outdoor?
And how did you find that
I want to say Filbert Bayi's 1500 WR way back in the '74 Commonwealth Games. Led start to finish.
Steve Ovett's *unofficial* two mile WR back in '78 during that great dual with Henry Rono. ("Unofficial since the two mile isn't recognized by the IAAF)
Let's face it - since rabbits have become the norm in all but championship events, unassisted WR's are very rare indeed.

A good memory helps ;)
Outdoors I think Moses Kiptanui in his 7:59,18 in Zurich did not have rabbits, but I am not entirely sure

However, often athletes will use 2 or more rabbits. I guess technically a record that is set with two rabbits is not set with "a rabbit".
Someone already pointed it out, but while the Decathlon isn't quite distance, it does have a few mid-d events, and there certainly was no rabbit at the Olympic Trials.

what do you call detmer and beach?
Usain Bolt running 19.19 for the 200 meter world record. Beach kinda helped out in the decathlon world record so it would not count.
Technically Dave Moorcroft's 13:00 WR had a rabbit but Moorcroft passed him by 800 and led the rest of the way so I will accept this race from 1982.

Competitors.
Gracious competitors, sure. But still competitors.
did this question arise because David Rudisha will be doing so in London?
Paula Radcliffe's 2:15 marathon record in 2003 did not have pacers, although it did have escorts. The difference is that escorts run next to you as opposed to running in front of you.

Nice shite you make up. The IAAF recognizes the 2 mile record.
Women's steeple was set at the Olympics.
The marathon world best was set without pacers in Boston.
Try Gulnara Samitova-Galkina's 3000mSC WR set in Beijing in 2008. First woman under 9 minutes too.
