The more these weak defenses and justifications about Block and Nike continue, the worse Nike looks as a company. For Nike to not care, to be oh so casual about their association with this drug cheast is beyond belief.
I don't buy their crap- haven't for a decade.
And A Duck, while many of us agree with you on this subject, please stop posting. You are one of the more irritating posters of all time.
Pay no attention to Block, nothing to see here.
Rojo--Funny you should mention Regina Jacobs and real estate. It turns out that that's exactly what Zhanna and Mark Bloch do. Here's her website, which, honestly, is a bit hilarious in light of what we know about her:

And here's a photo of Zhanna in her prime:

Heaven's, was she jacked.
I have found this thread to be very interesting (sic, amusing also) with the black helicopters and paranoid posters.
During the Trials, I said next to a group of VIP's, though I certainly am not one myself. On one of the days, they weren't in the regular seats because they were "scheduled" to be in the VIP tent, with a buffet and drinks. When they returned to the regular seats the next day, they said that the VIP seats had a view that was nowhere near as good as those in the covered sections near the finish line. They went on to describe how a limited number of people were allowed in the VIP tent based on the number of passes that were issued for that day. They then laughed and said that additional people had found their way up to the tent when passes were dropped down to them over the side of the tent.
I'm relating this as a probable explanation for how a guy like Block got admitted. The security people don't know Block from Adam and Eve, so I can see how he got in "informally". Enough of the conspiracy crap your guys. Why don't you try to get a real life?
This is almost comically bad obfuscation. 2/10 "coach"
Sounds like someone's getting a little aggressive and no longer paying attention to the actual situation.
I watched nationals a few years ago in the NIKE VIP box- friends who work for NIKE got me passes. Now I suppose those days are over.
Nike is laying, I attented the Profantaine Classis this year and we accidently went towards the stairs to the VIP lounge and there was a guy checking passes and he directed us to the right sitting area. You will not be able to access the VIP lounge unless you have the pass which is provided by Nike. I looked up to the lounge and all the Kenyan the delegation had VIP passes, NIKE is laying big time
Sorry I don't speak english I speak French
I think you are laying

No one is saying that Block didn't actually have a pass. He most likely did...but it was probably just given to him by one of his friends who works at Nike
I haven't read this entire thread but congrats to the brojos for running away with this. It's the grimy side of nike and elitism.
Ryan,
You really don't expect a guy with Rojo's lack of composition or proof reading skills to present an actual story do you?!?!
Seating is mixed , once you get in the box you are in and can mingle , food lines , drink lines etc.
99% of the people in the box would not have a clue to who Block is.
USATF officials maybe only handful would know Block , Hightower would be among them.
Still missing the point , Block was not banned from sky box crashing.
He had access to the practice track where the athletes are. He is banned from associating and working with the athletes. The practice track zone is ground zero for athletes and coaches at major track meets. Far tougher to get credentials into this area than to crash the Nike sky box.
How did he gain access to the practice track ?
Wrong.
Imagine for a second, that there are a lot of retired former track athletes that competed at a lot of the big meets for a year or two, maybe did a circuit of Europe or two...and met a lot of people, made a lot of friends, and stayed in touch with them.
There's a ton of former runners out there like me.
BFD.
I happen to live near Stanford. So if I go someplace nearby the day before a Payton Jordan, I am going to run into some athletes. Town and Country across the street with the running store, or the Nike store at Stanford Shopping center ring any bells for you?
The fact that I recognize them by name or face is irrelevant. I didn't recognize them through either. I recognized them as supremely fit and decked out in new gear from their companies. I asked them if they were here for the Jordan. They were surprised a American would recognize them out and about. Then they introduced themselves by names, which I recognized. I am sure you can guess who was at PJ last year, and why they would not be second stringers at PJ last year.
In your case, perhaps I am assuming too much.
Thank you.
Could it be that Rojo was ushered out because he was a red flag? Walking in filming?

This is an utter and complete pile of malarkey. Did you see how quickly the security guard accosted Rojo at the end of his clip? You don't get allowed into the NIKE VIP tent at the US Olympic Trials unless they grant you access. Mark Block had that access.
Brojos, check the ISPs on these guys, $20 says they are NIKE insiders. Please continue to follow up on the NIKE story, there is lots to be uncovered here.
sagdfgsa wrote:This is true...my grandparents were in the Nike VIP tent. They didn't even know anyone who works at Nike. They simply knew a USATF official.
From my understanding the Nike VIP tent is only for Nike employees..even though most probably were. I think there were lots of families too.
Thanks Coach f,You perfectly validated my post about how once you reach a certain level, it is insanely easy to get passes into these things. In this case, you obviously just needed to know someone who had been given a pass. I am sure even for some of the less in desire days, more passes were floating around. I've walked up to things without a pass before and had strangers hand me a pass on the way out -- it was kind of like an honor system, when you are done with yours, give it to some one trying to get in, lol.
