Both were pretty stupid for closing in 1:53 (?) when they realistically could have run ~5 seconds slower and still gotten in easily.
He won't be getting handshakes in London, thats for sure. As talented and hardworking as Rupp is, he doesn't have the finish to last with the Africans. He will have to run the perfect race just to be in contention with 300m left.

Rupp did not have to race like that, he could have just coasted in. HE raced Bumby towards the end, he knew he didnt have to win it or kick but Bumby wanted to make a statement. Galen had nothing to prove

I always thought rupp as a p ussy, but that move showed he can be a killer. When you're on the track you gotta be out to kill. No love or respect for anyone. Off the track you can say hi and grab ass. But I don't care if its before, during or after the race....if you got your spikes on its kill time.
Keep in mind this is the prelims....he must prove he is the best and isn't afraid of no one. Maybe after the finals he can be nice, but until then he must hate everyone on that track, thats how a competetior thinks
