Do you put Wariner in the men's pool? How do you make up your pool? Top six in the 400? Top 4 in 400 plus Batman and the child molester(assuming they make the hurdles team)?

You officially go with top 6, but Batman and the child molester may get a chance depending on any health issues at the Games.
That is a clown question bro. Of course you take top six for your pool. Wariner included. He has the experience.
Tentative order has been announced and is as follows:
Solinsky-sprintgeezer-Wariner-Clavin
I say definitely have him in the pool based on his experience. If he runs well in the prelims like he has something to prove, then he could earn his spot to the finals team.

Its the Olympic Games. Time for new blood. Larry James, Lee Evans, John Smith, Wayne Collett - all have experience.
I'd go for enthusiasm and whoever EARNED the spot.
As an aside, I don't agree with the switching athletes in and out through the prelims. And I would definately not favor Wariner running the final unless there was catastrophic injuries to at least 2 people ahead of him.
We argue over earning a spot and then expect to hand a Gold medal to 6 th place. At the least, potentially cutting out a final experience for athletes who finished ahead of him.
I'm done with nepotism and aging stars who should have prepared better.
The men's 4 x 400 is not going to be as strong as usual unless Wariner runs and is a lot better than he was yesterday.
After Merrit and McQuay there is a big drop-off
Officially, the relay team must include the participants in the corresponding open event, plus the alternate (see p. 11 of
)
So, for the 4x400, Merritt, McQuay, Nellum and Josh Mance are automatically in the relay pool. The final two spots are "discretionary" and are selected using the following criteria:
(1) the athlete’s ability to pass and receive the baton with either hand;
(2) the athlete’s ability to run the turn and/or straight leg;
(3) the athlete’s availability and willingness to attend any relay camps and/or practices;
(4) the athlete’s times run in the appropriate distances; and
(5) the athlete’s World Championships, Pan American Games and Olympic Games relay experience.

Unless he's hurt, Angelo Taylor will be on the team competing in the final.
