Something tells me Cabral will not be running for CU next year
Something tells me Cabral will not be running for CU next year

It's running. More simple than people think. Plus I'm pretty sure Mick Byrne has some experience in this field.
Then why don't more athletes run well nation wide in the college system? Actually I think running is more complex than most people think. What experience does Mick have with this Nelson kid? You honestly don't think all kids are the same and should be trained in the same manner? It could take several months or longer for Mick to understand what makes this potential transfer tick. If this kid's training is totally different from what the Badgers do, will Mick try and change him , or work with him and what has worked in the past?

As crazy as this seems, since Nelson won the 5 & 10k this spring he has had hernia surgery and while on the mend, has entertained the possibility of transfering schools including some campus visits. He in fact is looking at grad schools and finding a new training home since he only has cross left and graduates in December. Wisconsin, Colorado, and Stanford all have his program and solid post collegiates to train with. From what his former teammates have been saying it sounds like he may soon be a Buff!
Best of luck to the former Augusta Beaver/Stout Star - Go Tim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no one knows where tim nelson is going next year!!!
The Badgers win by 34 with Nelson, and get beat by Colorado by 6 if he decides to run there. The Martin Smith coached Oklahoma Sooners for third over in state rival OSU who are very disappointed with the last podium spot.
Florida State rebounds and dominates the women's race, followed closely by Colorado, Nova, and a finally healthy Providence squad.
Have any of you noticed what NAU has been doing all spring?! The got McElroy from Oklahoma St., Futsum and Nathan Weitz signed, and Diego is potentially coming back for another season. If Diego comes back, NAU will podium at minimum.
Lalang wins, Sambu second.
Washington wins womens with D'Agostino beating Hassay.

I think quite a lot of people do run very well in the college system. I'll cite the overall depth and lowering time standards required to make championships at the D1,D2,&D3 levels. Sure, there are "different" ways to train, but at the end of the day you have to be very aerobically fit and be able to push yourself. People put too much emphasis on all the little X's and O's.
Even if Cabral decides not to come, CU still has Hursyz (13:38, 3:42), Bosshard (13:34), VanHalen (8:37) , Moussa (?), and someone for a 5th. I'm not exactly sure who that 5th might be, but do not count them out.
However, I do think Wisconsin is still the team to beat, unless Donn Cabral chooses to stay in school. In that case, CU is a lock for the win in November.
Washington women will be tough to beat with Flood and Goethals as a strong 1-2 and a solid squad to back them up. Stanford has the talent to win with Kroeger, Cuffe, and Hatton all capable of being top 15, plus a very deep and solid back up crew (Tonn, Chapus, Billmeyer). If only Chelsey Sveinsson would return to form they'd be scary good. Fl State and Providence will be good as always, and Georgetown loses Infeld but gains Chambers back and frosh Haley Pierce and Samantha Nadel, who both have the talent to be in the top 20 and top freshman. Oregon could surprise with Hasay leading a good group of returners and the addition of Pappas and Woodward.
I'd love to see Cabral run for CU and that team could do great things. But Wisconsin is going to be tough to beat and will be hungry to defend their title.
Moussa and Bosshard didn't run track this year...
D Agostino will win if she doesn't turn pro first.
I actually like the Oregon Lady Ducks to have a shot at the NCAA title. I think Hasay will finish about 5th.
Jordan had an even rougher track season last year and rebounded nicely to finish a close second. I don't see her beating D'Agostino and I think either Flood, Rogers, or someone else will beat her, so I'm gonna pick her for third. She seems to get third a lot.
Bosshard may of just had surgery and Cabral may go pro
Thats a major blow to CU's 1-2 punch
Perhaps the jig from Iowa State that ran 31;15 for 10km on the track.
don't be so hard on jordan wrote:

Cabral was wearing the pro Nike kit last night in the steeple. Sorry CU, but he has gone pro.
Bump
The women's individual field next year may be one of the best 1-10 runners of NCAA history.
CU CU CU CU CU CU CU CU CU CU.
They will win. Wetmore is the man. Some one will step up big, thats not huryes, ammar, bossard, or van halen. Wisco has Mo Ahmed, but they don't have Wetmore.
