(Apologies if this has been discussed before...but I searched and couldn't find my exact question)
...has anybody every tried to quantify the advantage of racing in spikes or flats as oppose to regular training shoes? ie: any studies done that demonstrate "seconds saved per ounce per lap", or anything like that? Any claims made by the shoe companies in order to sell multiple pairs of footwear to a runner?
I guess the same question could apply to clothing. I've always felt the benefits are mostly psychological.
Thanks.
