it is absurd how bad it ALWAYS is ...
two things that really pissed me off:
1- cabral made 2 big moves in the steeple final, and ESPN managed to be showing something else EACH time. "we come back to steeple, and oh, wow, gee shucks, this Princeton kid took the lead". unreal.
2- while showing the highlights of the long jump and triple jump, trying to put the jumps into perspective for non track fans by comparing the jumps to the distance b/w home plate and the pitcher's mound. "folks, lets not forget, he just jumped ninety percent of the distance from home to the mound in just 3 steps!!" ... not only is that a ridiculous comparison, do those clowns really think that is going to be of interest to the casual sports fan?
i can see it now: my nontrack friends getting amped for London 2012 triple jump finals... "guys shutup! Taylor is up.. he is going for 96.7% of the distance to home... he might reach the batter's box!"
