Greer is playing "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" with that. If you have a win in you, it will come out at 100 to go as much as 200 to go, if you are riding The Jock close at 200. 3rd was what was in him today.

The issue was when he waited, someone else started to pass him 150 to go, so he had to slow down to get positioning to go around the georgia guy.

The combination of moving at 250 150 and trying to kick at 100 he didn't have anything by the end.

The thought is maybe if he had passed at 250 he coulda stayed out of trouble and held on.

Ask, do you go when you feel good 250 out? Or do you wait? Longer you wait, more risk of other people getting inolved in the race.

Paranthetically apparently overlooks that race tactics and the distribution of effort at the end of the 800 determines the difference on how you place. Just look at Evans.

It's likely Greer didn't have a 100m kick in him, but it's also likely Jock didn't have a 1:44 in him yesterday. I expect Jock gave 100% of what he had. It's perfectly valid to question whether Greer could squeeze more juice out of a sustained 200 than a burst 100.

His bold front running style of racing leading wire to wire to win is what Vin should have had his boy ready to do , not wait ,sit and kick.

Vin needs to get up to date , the new elites are leading wire to wire these days and as we have seen with the rest of his crew post grad sit and kick it aint working !
