Ethiopians/Kenyans close in 52 off sub-13:00 pace.
No one in the world right now can close in a 52 off sub 13 pace. Maybe Ken in his prime but Farah is number one now and he can not close that fast.
YOU LIE! BEKELE AND LAGAT IN THERE PRIMES MAYBE... BUT THAT's ALL!

Absolutely no way, Cam is a very good NCAA athlete, but the 5K/10K at the next level is a major-major step up. In fact, those 2 events and the steeple are the toughest events in t&f to go from the NCAA to pro. Cam will get there, but just like Sol, Ritz and Rupp it going to take some time.
Solinsky closed a 10k in 156 and still has only ever been 4th at world champs

Teg was 4th. Solinsky was not.
Just saw the replay on ESPN3. More amazing was that last 200M. He actually looked like he was in cruise control for for the first 200M of the last lap. I'm thinking he ran about 24 seconds over the last 200M.
Yess yes yes yes. Here we go bitches. liquid vodka, non stop
Go watch the YouTube vid of a Finnish guy named Juha in the 1971 European Championships 10k. A last lap in 54 seconds, but within that a 300 meter kick in about 37-38 seconds. Extend that speed out to 400 meters and we're talking a 50 second last lap, and by the looks of it he probably could have started that kick at 400 meters if need be.
I've seen a 52 dropped at the end of a 27 flat 10k. I'd say that is pretty comparable.

I think you are wrong.
Lagat closed in 51.9 to run 12:59 beating Bekele and that was before he started focusing on the event. He may not be able to do that any more, but he could come very close.
They won't need to close in 54 because Levins can't run a 27 or 13 flat. While Cam's closing in 54 (or whatever) African runner #1 will be half way through his victory lap.
Exactly. Farah's gonna make a long drive out from 800-1000m remaining and attempt to drop everyone, and then close in sub 54.
And then boom! some random unknown African might run him down. Or Eskimo, since Levins is from Canada.
He wouldn't win medals but I think he can hold his own with the best in the world right now. But the key words is "right now". No way do I see him carrying this form all the way to the Olympics. And I see him going the way of Solinsky if Levins keeps up the crazy volume of training he is apparently doing. But right now any running fan just has to sit back and admire Levins.

Which happens first:
(1) Cam wins a gold medal
(2) Cam ends his career much prematurely due to all that mileage.
??
Right now, though, I don't know if the Africans are used to a 10000 guy with something like 48 400 speed. Bekele does not have that, nor did Geb. If they go out in a tactical race around 27:10-15 like they did last year, he's going to eat them alive. Remember what El Guerrouj did to Bekele in that 5000.

17 year old just ran 350 mile in diamond league

How do you know that Bekele and Geb don't have 48 speed?
They've both almost run 3:30 for 1500m? They've closed in 24 for the last 200m, haven't they? And Bekele himself stated he has 48 speed, yeah? Also, Bekele didn't really lose by that much to El Guerrouj. That shows that their speeds are somewhat similar.
How do you know Levins can run a 48 anyway?

Lagat was not running sub 13 pace when he dropped the 51.9, in fact it was outside of 13:10 pace.
