Seriously. Met up with friends at a bar in Eugene. GR shows up. Orders a Coors Light, drinks it, and left. The coolest thing I have encountered in my life.

Sad life....
AND....did you talk to him? Or did you watch him awkwardly/creepily from afar?

His mask of course. Fan bois should know the answer instantanous like.
Guys - I not fcking kidding. i'm on my iphone right now. HE was drinking a beer after breaking 13 in the 5000m. fckin
sweeeeeettt.
HOLY SH*T! That's pretty freaking cool. I didn't think he went out at all. Much lesss, be4 the oly trials. congrats foo, not many of us can say that. SWEETTTTT
Is that it? I feel like any serious runner in Portland would encounter Rupp running on the trails all the time and seeing him around is no big deal. Rupp does not seem like that cool of a guy to have a beer with but I don't know him so I could be wrong. Did he have anything interesting to say?

No way, he has too many peeps in his life in Eugene to walk into a bar a drink a beer alone, let alone a coors lite. There are lots of good brew pubs in Eugene etc.
I was behind the West stands about a half hour after the meet ended. Rup and Mo Farah were doing a cool down run around the soccer fields back there. Before that, it was interesting to watch him and Farah after their race. Rupp was obviously very happy and had animated interaction with many fans. He did a second take when he saw the widow of Geoff Hollister, came back to her, gave her a big hug and thanked her for all that she and her husband had done for him over the years. Very touching moment.

Sounds much more feasible.
Which bar?

I can't say that I've seen him drink a beer. I've seen him hang out with his friends. And I've seen him where he could have drank a beer (a hosted event where he was a guest and others were drinking beer).
I am sure the friends/teammates he was hanging out with think he is completely cool to hang out and drink a beer with.
For the record, he is not a wimp. He's run some bad assed times, and some bad assed workouts for about a decade, and I've even seen him bust a friend verbally for asking a dumb question. The guy has a full blown personality and is not an idiot.
He just comes from a classier world than a lot of you, and lives a pretty straight forward and driven life.
Touching commentary. Now back to the issue at hand. Why the hell would you post this on Letsrun from your iPhone? Do you not have a picture with him, or anything to prove it/ remember the moment? What the hell dude.... Why not congratulate him?

HE came in and ordered a coors light from the barkeep. HE virtually chugged it, with class. HE was high strung. The reason I post this is bc I have never ever seen HIM drink a beer before. I think HE loosened up a bit and is ready to roll come London. I predict GOLD.
