I've been using this shoe for 8 months now and have had no problems with it yet. I'm thinking of switching into something different 'just because'. Is there a new version out there of this shoe? Just wanted to get some thoughts from anyone...thanks

I've used the Structure Triax for 2-3 years and it has been most consistently best shoe for me. I have alternated with 2080's and 2090's, which are similar. The other two that come to mind are the Mizuno Wave Mercury and the Saucony Grid Omni. The Structure Triax update is scheduled for release 1 August. The post is not extended through the arch like the current version, so it will likely be a bit less supportive, yet lighter and smoother. In a way I would prefer to wear something other than a Nike, but I have to say, this one has worked the best for me. Good Luck
thanks for the reply...and forgive me for asking but what are 2080's/90's? are they nikes? i'm not too shoe-knowledgable...
2080/90=ASICS. I had a pair of Sructures but I found them to be a bit too clunky. The Span Triax is a little lighter and more flexible. You might consider taking a look at them. I find the Zoom Elites to be similar in many ways to the Span Triax in terms of weight and stability but with a more narrow forefoot (which I like). I've also used the Mizuno Wave Maverick which is in the same territory. Not a bad shoe. I like to rotate through several different shoes at the same time so I don't get overly used to one in particular. I'm using current Span Triax, the old Span Triax (from a few years ago, got some cheap at Eastbay), and the Zoom Elite right now.
the new structure will be like a cross between the span triax and the current structure. great for average joe 9 minute guy. if you're running fast, think about the elite.
The Zoom Elite is a great shoe - faster and more responsive than the Structure Triax, stable, though not quite as much medial support. The only factor would be if you are in need of more support, then you should opt for one of the alternatives (Asics 2090, Mizuno Wave Mercury or Alchemy, Brooks Adrenaline, adidas Supernova Control).
