The unknown French guy that won the Puma Mile in 3\'53 and ran a crazy 3\'34 at the oxy meet pretty much by himself, is joining next year the Nike project with Manzano and Torrence!

Thanks for sharing the link!
hope they are well aware of his drug history with nandrolene.
From a French newspaper article:
"Ahrass pleads guilty
The rider of the ES Nanterre Ahrass Jamel got a six-month suspension after testing positive for a derivative of nandrolone. Interview with a man who assumes.
Interview by Jean-Claude Derniaux | 26.10.2005
JAMEL AHRASS (24 years), bronze medalist over 800m at the Championships in France , 1'47'26 record, tested positive on July 21 at the meeting in Reims (Marne). The national laboratory for testing has established August 4 (September 21 and then at the second assessment against) the presence of a derivative of nandrolone (19-norandrosterone) in her urine. The disciplinary body of first instance of the fight against doping in the FFA gave a one-year suspension (six months suspended) as of September 28. How did you receive this sanction? Jamel Ahrass. I assume. But I know that I was fooled by a tainted product. After the Championships of France in Angers (July 14-16), where I have also been tested (negative), I bought a dietary supplement to Decathlon Montesson, near my home. It was shown in the box that I could gain muscle. When you're an elite athlete, is it not a mistake of buying such a product? I would not have trusted, for sure. I unprofessionally. But the disciplinary commission of the FFA who heard me understands that I did not intend to boost (note: Nandrolone is rather detected in sprinters). After this case, have you all alone? No, not at all. The club supports me a lot of Nanterre. Leaders know me well. But if I was in contact with other major clubs in Paris (Neuilly-Plaisance Sports, CA Montreuil, Racing), some have told me he did not want me after such a story. But the announcement of the penalty, I also received many expressions of sympathy. Mounir Yemmouni (French international on 1500 m) called me, and the tennis Moroccan Younes El Aynaoui. I was very touched. What will you do by the end of the suspension in late March 2006? I work nights as a security guard. A job that will allow me to go on a one month internship in Kenya with a friend and then to go to Morocco to train hard. Then I will prove my rage real value next summer."

It says he has received an offer to join the Nike Project next year, but is not specific as to which group this is. He mentions talking to Manzano, but Manzano's group is known as the Austin Track Club. Maybe he is talking about Oregon.
Alberto's group is typically known as the Nike Project. Everybody else are known as "Track Clubs" eg Austin Track Club, Oregon Track Club, etc.
It says he's gotten to know Manzano pretty well since he's been training with different groups every now and then (but he mentions that he is mostly self-coached) and that he received an offer to join the Nike Project next year.
This is not good for athletics. He is a doper and he will always be. Joining another group that emphasizes the "grey" area will just add to his already questionable feats.
As far as I know nandrolene isnt a banned substance, if he tested positive for nandrolone however that would be a different story.

He deserves a second chance..... You cool guys on this site give lance a pass and he has been injecting PEDs in his NUT for over a decade
I don't know why, but I actually believe the guy, even if he is a Moroccan. No doubt, if he was able to provide the supplement that he bought at some gym shoppe, then it seems that he's served his suspension for stupidity.

Now that he is part of the American scene, I want to believe he is not evil either.
