they have talent but where is it going!
where is uni?
University of Northern Iowa, right. They had one really good 5k from Croatia graduate last spring. He recently ran 13:20 something and is sponsored by Adidas. His name was Bazlag or something
ive heard of him before. didnt he get like 3 or 4 in the indoor 3000?
Croatia? Try Hungary. His name was Balazs Csillag. 13:24 or so for 5000.
Croatia, Hungry, they are all the same (thats a joke) And at least I was kinda close on the name (thats another joke) He was good and my friend said that he was a super cool guy.
i heard he's injured now. something like he broke his foot. or a toe. something like that. i didnt think he was that good in college.(frosh and soph years)
Cross-country will be 'good' when its included in the winter olympics.

They had 3 Hungarian dudes and one Iowan-Rob Brock that beat Stanford in the 4x1600 a couple years ago at Drake, so they have talent, but but I'm not 100% sure where all those Hugarians went. Talent has gone through there though However, much of their new stuff comes from Iowa, so there is some competition with ISU and Iowa sent it comes to attracting guys. Especially when ISU and IU have better academics than UNI. To top it off, Cedar Falls pretty much licks as a city. Injuries haven't helped either.
Better academics? UNI's business school is far superior to either Iowa or Iowa State. However, CF and Waterloo are a pit to live in. Iowa and Iowa State's XC programs are definitely on the rise.
Better academics at IU and ISU by far. UNI isn't even a doctoral institution and average ACT is much lower at UNI among undergrads. Not to mention the fact that IU and ISU have specialties that many programs in the country can't match (i.e. Life sciences and Writer's workshop)
Rob Brock ran very well in 2000, but he ripped up his knee playing pick-up basketball just after the season was over and had to have ACL surgery. He's made a couple of comeback attempts but can't keep it up for long without breaking down. A shame.
