That whole virginity thing and Christians is so odd to me. It just makes no sense humans were meant to have sex and there is nothing wrong with it.

Meant to.. by God?
HAHAHAHave to agree - you can't say MEANT to without having a designer of the intent. You could say human beings are capable of having sex with whoever they choose, but that is very different than meant to.

Have to say I'm impressed. Whether or not you agree with waiting and all that, sticking to a value like that is beyond difficult. She has incredible discipline.
i've got pretty good gaydar, so i was surprised when she said she likes dudes.
she's just part of the small class hetero tomboy jock girls. goofy jock girls don't turn on most guys, so it makes sense that she's having a hard time finding mr right.
she'll have better luck if she stays away from macho athletes.
she's my kind of girl--i liked her even when i thought she was a lesbian.
"she's just part of the small class OF hetero tomboy jock girls"
Good point.
Let me send a clarifying message off to Bill Clinton.
He'll know.

Its interesting that you post as Quenton Cassidy, because it may hekp illustrate a point that you don’t understand One reason Once a Runner is such a popular book, and one reason why Quenton Cassidy is such a great character is because all track runners can see a little bit of themselves in Quenton or maybe Bruce; that unwavering dedication to the cause, the very lack of compromise is something track and field athletes have in common. That's what virginity until marriage is all about for people who regard sex as a religious experience; unwavering dedication, no compromise.
Christians who stick to those ideals, like all other people, want to have sex. They desire it as much as anyone else. Striving to remain pure until marriage, and dedicating your life to you spouse is no different from an athlete breaking four minutes in the mile without the use of performance enhancing drugs. You could cheat, you could do it the wrong way, but their is so much less satisfaction that way, along with all of the inherent risks. The dedication to work, hard brutal work, to make yourself better, is the same between the athlete and the abstinent.
lol
Holy s***. This article made front page of yahoo!
Uh, except for the fact that there is nothing "wrong" with sex, whether it's premarital or postmarital. This is a horrible analogy. You are trying way too hard.
Maybe she should date Tim Tebow.
They could create a legion of ethnically neutral, ethically outstanding, super athlete offspring!

I'm a college counsellor, and you have no idea how many yound ladies and even young men I meet with on a weekly basis who have developed clinical psychological issues from sleeping around. It really does mess with your brain when you are partying, binge drinking, sleeping around, and making poor decisions. It happens much too frequently. Not to mention all of the STD swapping that DOES go along with it, unplanned pregnancies, etc. These sorts of things can change lives in a very, very negative way.
No, there is technically nothing wrong with sex, but it is also a very dangerous game people play. The Christian community stresses that sex is for husband and wife, and that marriage is forever, to help people not develop those emotional scars, to keep people from spreading STDs, and to protect people from unplanned pregnancies.
Far too often young people make light of how big a deal sex really is, and the effects it has on people.
