Why haven't any of you responded to Ventolin's comment? It doesn't sound so far fetched. Some of you are just so determined for her to be guilty. I don't understand the animosity.

What the hell are you talking about? She IS guilty, where have you been?
You know what's really great about people like Marion Jones? They try so hard to keep lying, they even file defamation lawsuits against people who are telling the truth about her and her crimes. Wow, what a model citizen!
You're argument is the very reason our sport has been so tolerant of cheaters. People who essentially have stolen from other athletes. Who have taken wins, records, prizes, money, endorsements, and self pride even in the accomplishments from people who have played by the rules.
Tell me again why you waste your time defending people who have seen fit to take so much from others, and corrupt such a pure sport like Track & Field that we all love?
There's nothing to defend here. Just another case of a greedy person who is obsessed with the spotlight, and couldn't let go. She really fooled you didn't she?

I wish she'd said all this at her sentencing hearing. She'd still be in the clink.
She was running D1 scholarship times at age 13...perhaps she was doping in middle school.
Ventolin is right. I believe she was not a doper, but was setup and can't say too much. She had been a phenomenal sprinter since 14. And she is beautiful still today - not malformed.

Marion Jones does not owe any of you anything. Your opinion of her means absolutely nothing at the end of the day. Call her a disgrace, a thief, a liar. What does it matter to YOU who Marion Jones is? How has her failure impacted your health and strength?
Marion is telling HER story and since it IS HER story then let HER tell it! If you dont want to listen, turn it off or dont read the article. People find power in tearing other people down. Why do you need to know the intimate details of her failure?
She is still standing, are you? She did not turn to drugs and alcohol to numb her pain and stress. So, yall can hang around this message board and continue to tear her down instead of admiring her strength to continue to stand in spite of her circumstances.
Ask yourself - How have you handled adversity in YOUR life?

Almost everyone in the 2000 Olympic 100m finals, men and women were loaded.
You are probably right, my only question is if and why you think any of the other events were any different?

The thing is, she is perpetuating this by remaining in the public eye and not showing an ounce of remorse or guilt. If she just admitted it for real instead of this half assed attempt to blame men in her life, the story would have gone away a long time ago.
Yep, and the longer she stays in the public eye, the more money she makes. And the arrogance of her claim that she "would have won anyway" is incredible and disgusting.

Doping is expensive. No way Jones could have afforded it in HS or College.

Yeah, because no high school people do steroids or other doping stuff.
You're a waste of time to argue this with you. Her "circumstances" implies she didn't do this all to herself by screwing tons of people over for years, and still to this day attempts not only to write a BS book about it,and pander to kids about how she simply made a mistake and they can learn from her, a pathological liar, and sue the very people who know she is full of sh1t.
How have I handled adversity in my life? Better than she has, I'm doing just fine thanks.
You go ahead and admire the strength of criminals who stand up and lie to everyone around them, and water down their crimes and "mistakes", and try and package all their BS into a book for them to make money. Oh, and admire people who help to continually corrupt a sport that all of us love and have honest passion for.
F$%$% MARION JONES!
The problem with Ventolin's theory is you have to believe that she also didn't dope even though two of her husbands - CJ Hunter & Tim Montgomery - were dopers and Hunter said she knew what the "clear" was even before he did.
http://3wiresports.com/2010/11/01/the-truth-marion-jones-is-a-liar/You also have to believe that Jones didn't dope even though her coach was Trevor Graham.
You also have to believe that Victor Conte is a liar and that is calendar/ledger linking Jones to doping is also a fraud.
http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=297995&page=1#.T8O9osX4KFEIt's absurd to think all of those things.
I honestly say it's more likely she doped in HS than she didn't dope at all because I know she doped.

Where is Ventolin^3 when you need him? He provided a very convincing argument that Marion never cheated. The only reason she admitted it was because doing so was part of a plea bargain for the unrelated crime she was convicted of.
Did he argue this using linear interpolation?

VenTARD.
Her first hubby was a druggie, if nobody remembers. They met at UNC. Hunter.

... and that is why Ventolin believes all of them, absurd is what Ventolin does best.
I have to admit I was always wondering why she didn't seem to get any additional time at all for the check fraud charge.
It would be hard to name a single clean elite level female sprinter during Jones' era.
I laughed out loud when she gave the response to "how did you feel when they took your medals away"? She replied, that it was not that hard as you would think, as the Olympics are "more about the memories" or something to that extent. When you win a gold medal, its all about that hardware!

1998 was probably her last clean year after that it was EPO/designer steriods, which obviously really didn't help.
She really did throw her career away. The drugs she took did nothing for her. Sad but I guess thats just how they do, not thinking and stuff.
Half of my high school football team did steroids. And we did not live in a rich city and did not go to a rich school. Steroids clearly arent that expensive. The high end HGH/EPO/CERA stuff is expensive. Basic steroids treatments arent.
