I was at the race. He had a 10 min lead off the bike and still tab the fastest run split of the day.
It was hot as hell out, hilly bike and run courses.
He looked good the whole time!
Hawaii lookout!

He is so much faster now...
He biked a 2:01, That is like 26 mph....
Total time was 3:45, that is beastly to any Half Ironman standard
No surprise, with all the roids and blood doping that b**tards done he should be running 90 min half's until he's 70. Livestrong b*#^h!
Lance ran 1:25.08 in the half marathon in Ste-Croix where he finished 3rd overall. Lance ran the half marathon in 1:15.56 this weekend. Putting things in perspective, Ste--Croix 7th placer, Kriat, place second today. He ran 1:25.54 in the half marathon in Ste-Croix. Kriat ran the half marathon in 1:16.54 today.
Therefore, I don\'t see a big improvement (if at all) in the half marathon for Lance. Just an easier/shorter running course this weekend.
His bike section was however much superior this weekend.
Ironman Florida course has been measured ~12.5 miles by many. Even if you add another 4 minutes, it's easily sub 1:20. You go, LANCE!
This is not Ironman florida.. this is 70.3 florida. Further, this is the first year it has been on this course so I don't get how you can say "its been measured at 12.5 miles by many". You are a fool. Get back to hobby-jogging your 25 minute 5k's at the local turkey trot.
Course was legit. It was 90+ and humid out, minimal shade, moderately hilly. Eat it.

"half's". LOL

My apologies: "measured at 12.5 miles by many who competed today" is what I meant to say. Had followed some athletes...
Ok so if we follow your logic:
13.1 baseline 1:15. If it was really 90+ degrees that would easily make 5min difference. Another 3 because it was in the sun, another 5 because it was at the end of an Ironman 70.3.
By my calculation his half was worth 1:02 in an open Half.

OK, go ahead, where is the flaw in my calculation? Seriously?
Still believe the race was 13.1?
You are just one jealous POS.
I ran it you tool bag. It was legit. In what world do you take off 8 minutes for sun and some heat? I hope you never get into calculations like ventolin.
He could probably run a 1:11 - 1:12 open half. Good triathletes don't lose much time off the bike from open run times.

Good runners don't, good Triathletes lose at least 2 minutes after swimming and biking.

Yeah, he's a Poor Old Sport.

I would love to hear Ventolin's calculation for this. Calculation for 90+ degrees (in the shade) on a sunny course.
Boston M was 70-80 and it was already brutal. 90+ is a whole different game.
Ghhbhjghuhbh....
You are a dumb arse! That is probably one of the most foolish things dervied only from ignorance.
I lived with Maxim Kriat! He blew up at St. Croix. He is a sick arse runner who has run under 2:49 off the bike in a full Ironman! That is 2x sub 1:25 in a row (if you needed more understanding.)
Lance was a monster today and the 1:15 is legit and it was a hard arse course.
You dont even know how triathlon works. It is one sport, not three. If he goes Hard as crap on the bike, his run will suck. He hauled on the bike and had a fast run. Which means he is becoming a better triathlete.
The running must be stronger and faster to run a 1:15 off the bike.
You CANNOT correlate athletes times that you do not know or do not have a race report from personally.
Holy cow. I hope you are not a parent, teacher or mentor of any sort!
o.O
Where did you get that? Do you mean if a good runner enters a half Ironman, they will run the same time they would stand alone Half marathon?
At least 2 minutes? Where did you get that number.
That's weird, I dont like your assumptions
TriDude has the wrong attitude. I am on Fools side.
Lance updated his race info on his training log site, has the 1/2 marathon listed at 20.7 according to his gps.
It was supposed to be 89 degrees for the high in Tampa today. Was this in Clermont? Anyway, the heat was legit and the run in a half ironman would figure to be in the midday sun, not pleasant. His run in Buffalo showed that he was in 1:11/1:12 shape.
Maybe the bike leg was long. Whateva...
1:15 * 21.1/20.7 = 1:16:20. Add 80 seconds. Still an impressive run by a Masters runner.
When you go blazing out of transition, and those POS gamins try to find a satellite, they easily miss the first bit of the run before they actually start tracking you... hence why the files tend to look short.
