So a close finish in the 1500 with Lalang, Derrick and Dunbar. All three should now be in progress in the 5000. Wish it was streaming or something.
Derrick!
FlashResults #pac12 Chris Derrick (Stanford) wins Men's 5000 Meter Run (Final) in 13:37.55.
Place Athlete Name Yr Affiliation Time Pts
1 Chris Derrick SR Stanford 13:37.55 10
2 Stephen Sambu SR Arizona 13:38.88 8
3 Lawi Lalang SO Arizona 13:41.45 6
4 Trevor Dunbar SO Oregon 14:00.44 5
5 Luke Puskedra SR Oregon 14:01.03 4
Lalang is showing he's human. That's a mighty fast time for a conference final, with Derrick having run a 1500 earlier. Very impressive.
So Lalang wins the 1500, Derrick wins the 5000 and Sambu wins the 10,000. I CANNOT wait for NCAAs!
Sorry, could anybody tell me why Dunbar is with Oregon now?
Maybe because he wants to be a pro runner after college?

If you were inferring that the 14:00 5k is an indication that he's in poor form, you obviously weren't following the meet.

the 1500 was also very quick. 3:41 up front
I think Dunbar is with Oregon so that he can improve his chances of running up to his potential. He has two more years of Outdoor eligibility after completing this season, and I'd say if he continues on his current path, he will be an outstanding distance runner by time he finished his Oregon program. Hs first year at Oregon has certainly been a successful one, so let's acknowledge that he made a good decision to move over to run as an Oregon Duck.
Dunbar also ran the 1500. He will be a factor at nationals at 5000m.
1500m final results:
1 Lawi Lalang SO Arizona 3:47.33 10
2 Chris Derrick SR Stanford 3:47.66 8
3 Trevor Dunbar SO Oregon 3:47.84 6
4 Travis Stanford SR Oregon 3:48.61 5
5 Tyler Stutzman SO Stanford 3:48.63 4
6 Michael Atchoo SO Stanford 3:48.74 3
7 Colby Alexander FR Oregon 3:49.25 2
8 Chad Noelle FR Oregon 3:49.46 1
Perhaps because a million college students transfer every year for a better fit?

Correction: 2.5 million students transfer per yearAccording to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), in 2005 nearly 60% of college graduates in the United States who completed undergraduate degrees had attended two or more institutions prior to graduation. Roughly 2.5 million students transfer every year. Student mobility spans institutional structures, differing policies and practices often extending college degree completion by an average of one semester according to the GAO in a report to Congress in October 2005.

This might be naive of me, but I'm thinking that it was a genuine question - maybe the dude didn't ever hear of the transfer. Not everyone is running board junkie.
Nice day for Alaskans Dunbar and Jordon Clark of Arizona State.
