Anyone tried these out yet? I really liked the 3's as a road flat and was wondering how the new model compares.

looks nice.
Just went for my first run in a new pair. I like them. They feel very similar to the Streak 3s. The biggest difference is the fit/sizing. I normally wear a 10.5 in pretty much any running shoe. I always felt that my 10.5 Streak 3s were a little big... I wondered if I could get away with wearing a 10. After reading that the Streak 4s ran small, I went with 10.5s again hoping they would fit better. They do. They fit my foot perfect... almost too perfect. A hair smaller would probably cramp/rub my toes a bit.
I also like the way the upper fits compared to the Streak 3s. In the streak 3s, the upper material would always fold up when I tightened the laces (yes, my feet are on the narrow side - that's why I wear Nikes). On the streak 4s, there is no folding of the upper material... it just fits my foot perfectly with normal lace tension.
I was also curious about the weight, since every website lists them as heavier than the Streak 3s, but by varying amounts. So, I put them to the scale. Here is the weight along with some other shoes I own for comparison.
All size 10.5:
Nike Streak 4 - 7.7 oz
Nike Streak 3 - 7.4 oz
Brooks T7 - 6.85 oz
New Balance 1400 - 7.55 oz
Brooks T6 - 6.75 oz
I hope this helps somebody!
I've been wearing these for a month, including a marathon, I think they are too soft for a racer. They are comfortable and much more stable than the streak 3 but after a few runs much less responsive, they feel mushy like the lunaracer in my opinion. I like firmer race shoes.
Nike had to screw up a good thing and turn it into mush. Besides messing up the responsive ride, the upper is horrible. Worst lacing system I've seen in quite sometime. Impossible to get the laces laying flat, they get all twisted. Also, it runs 1/2 size small. This is the best Nike can come up with? I'll stick with the Adidas Adios 2.
Can anyone confirm that the midsole is different than the Streak 3s? I thought they were the same. They feel a bit softer than my Streak 3s... but I figured that was because my Streak 3s have close to a thousand miles on them.
Whoa hold up buddie! The streak is Nikes entry level flat. Wait until the Flyknit racer hits the stores and you'll see how innovative Nike can be.
