No, no my dear good man... it's BLAME CANADA.
Even if he were to burnout and never race again after this season, he has already accomplished more than 99.9% of people on Letsrun. His conference meet will be a tempo 10k in trainers, a sit and kick 1500, and a tempo 5k in trainers. He is also scheduled to run the 800 which may be the most difficult to win as there are several 1:50 guys that will make him run hard plus there are prelims. My guess is he wins the 10 and 5 easily not going until the last 800 or so. He wins the 1500 from about 500 out and he gets first or second in the 800 in a very close race. Basically he will be racing an 800, and a 1500, and running a moderate 800 to qualify for finals. He will only be running the 10 as a small portion of his mileage for the day and the 5 he will not run if the team battle is already decided. The rest of the way through the Canadian trials is a two week rotation which gives him plenty of recovery time and he most likely will not have to run the 10 at the trials.
I know you were trying to help those who are concerned, but you just made me more concerned. I guess I forgot about the 800s and 1500s also.
Hopefully he will not race in trainers, as they could cause knee problems on a rubberized track.
While there are a number of Canadians who have run fast times at the 5,000 and 10,000 lately, not all of them show up to nationals and the races are not typically anywhere near fast.

In 2009, third place finishers ran 14:09/29:45 respectively. I don't think Levins has much to worry about at the Canadian trials, even if the talent is there.
