I believe the Jumbo Elliott version of this workout was 6 x 400m with 400m jog.
6 is too many if you just want a projection time. If you are doing it as a work out, you'll probably need 4-5min to hit your goal pace - maybe even a little more. I think you are better doing 4x400 with 3min rec @ goal pace.
Also, google Kosmin test for another variation to project time, or even a simple 500 30sec rec 300 (both with standing starts)...total time normally works out to what you can run.
