Clearly he can run faster. In fact is Derrick or Chelanga gave him a run for his money on the last lap, he would have run 2 seconds faster.

Can he hold on until NCAAs, the Canadian Championships, and the Olympics?

If only he had a really solid base.

Why does Derrick get the American record...Isn't Cam Levins American?

Cam is Canadian. In fact, they pushed Bairu's 27 into third Canadian in the race because Mo Ahmed ran 27:34.

America = USA. American = person or thing of the USA. The rest of you are Canadian or Mexican.

This guy grew up in the same area as me and I don't remember him being a superstar in high school , I follow results pretty closely but don't remember thinking he made a massive impact or anything.

Anyone know his HS PR's? I should but I don't. Was he just more of a cross guy. If I'm correct he is from Vancouver Island.

I believe he was a 4:00 1500m guy. Pretty decent but not one of those HS kids the Flotrack will never stop talking about no matter how slow they run in college...
