Meh, we've seen this many times from Bernie. He probably took some time off after indoors and is just getting back into it. He didn't look that good during 2007 until after the US Champs, and that seemed to turn out well for him. I'm confident he'll be ready to roll when it matters.
Did you happen to see the World Indoor Championships, not so long ago? Did you happen to see an American record for the indoor 5000 that he set in NYC?
Age finally caught up to the Rift Valley wonder.

Way to many, running devil on this site
Like you AlWAYS run your best in EVERY race you have EVER run. F***ing tard. Why does a thread about someone being washed up happen every time some elite runner gets beat. it happens...deal with it.
Even as a troll, you epitomize the message board rat of which Salazar spoke.
Ive never liked him. He concealed that he was already an American citizen when he got silver in 2004 and by the time he started wearing USA jersey (after years of schooling and training in our country) he was in the twilight of his career and his best days were behind him. I honestly cant stand him. He also has a positive drug test (later overturned, but casts some doubts nevertheless) on his record.
I have no problem with naturalized Americans running for and representing the USA. I think it's great, in fact. But Lagat went about it entirely the wrong way. Can't wait for that guy to retire.
Yeah, right after he won a world title in the 3k. Ridiculously washed up for sure.
How many of you can't comprehend that he doesn't train for the 1500/mile anymore?
No one can legitimately leg-git like Lagat.
A year ago their positions were reversed: Lagat the 1200 and Brown the 1600. Brown received the baton in the lead and ran a 3:57 and got caught at the end.
As Russell said in the press conference that day, The "dirty little secret" of the DMR is that the anchor never wants to take the stick with the lead.
I've seen a lot of DMRs and very rarely does the anchor with the lead hold on the whole way.
The NBC guys should know better, and they should give Leo more respect, and they shouldn't write their script before the race starts.
And I'm still thinking that Lagat will medal in the 5K this summer.
Yet another mensa level thread on letsrun.
I have a good one. How about a thread entitled "what could Ron Jeremy run the mile in".

So you would've sat out the Olympics in the prime of your career?

Rules are supposed to be rules. But being a dishonest scum bag works too.
I'd love to be as good as the "washed up" man is. As far as the Kenya part goes, the difference between him and you probably is that you did absolutely nothing to become an American, while he managed to do it himself. Your ancestors had some guts when they came over. You would probably be a disappointment to them, though.

So you're OK with Kenya getting a medal technically won by an American? And, no, I probably would have begun seeking citizenship around the time I was receiving a free education here.
