So, I've heard and might've seen people who can continue racing thru injury, but only for distance running. Is it possible to 'sprint' with an injury? For exm, if you pull a muscle, but still have to race. How can you mask that for the time being to race?
No, not in sprints. Every tenth counts, and when you're actually injured and trying to race through the pain, you're going to give up those valuable tenths of a second. You simply can't be as explosive as you need to be.
It's sometimes possible (but almost always inadvisable) in distance events, particularly when the area you're in isn't very competitive and you can afford to run a few seconds/mile slower than you normally would, but in sprints there is no reasonable way to expect to continue to compete as you will need to.
