Hi, I am a junior in high school, and i would like to know ways to improve my times in track. Last year, when I was a sophomore, I showed a lot on potential in my races. This year, while there have only been two meets so far, I have been disappointed with my times, and I can no longer tell myself that I have more time to train, because I will be a senior next year. I am primarily a 400m and 400m IH runner, but I am starting to branch into the 800m. In practice, my coach has us do a lot of 200m repeats, which is good because my 200m time really isn't good and I need to get better at that, but I've found that in my meets, when I run a 400m or an 800m I get extremely tired, and I don't have the same kick that I did last year. I was wondering what kind of workouts I should be doing to improve my times. My personal record in the 400m is 55.4 seconds and my personal record in the 800m is 2:14. My personal record in the 400m IH is 60.1. Are there any good workouts I should be doing in order to improve my times? I was thinking about doing hypoxic training, which I've read a little bit about.
