I'm currently in college now, but every once in a while I like to pop up at my old high school to watch the home meets since I live only five minutes away.
I've been watching my good friend race for the past three weeks, but something has seemed off with his races. It seems that he's always dying out on the last lap, and he can't explain why. Be it the 1600 or the 3200 , his last lap is absolutely horrendous, and sometimes even painful to watch (ex: He averaged 79's for his 3200 and then died out in 86 for his last one; yes it's not too bad but still).
I know it's natural every once in a while for a runner not to have anything left on the last lap, but it seems abnormal for him since it's happened three weeks in a row. Any explanation why? I like seeing my teammates succeed and it's really disappointing seeing him struggle with something he can't find the problem for, so I would greatly appreciate your guys' help. Thank you.
