Nice to see Greer back strong:

Those are terrific early season marks. Let's hope that Preble, Greer and Roberts, in particular, have lots more left when the real racing begins.
Greer finished strong last year and returns with what might be the fastest outdoor debut ever done off no indoor (?). It will be awesome to see this event get back up to full power after a disappointing indoor season (props to McHenry though).
Greer is a tough runner, wonder how much upside he has at this point. Hopefully, he is not another Loxsom from PSU. All world early and - 0 lately.
No need for that comparsion though. Go ducks
Greer ran 1:45 very low at NCAA's last year, and he was impeded! And now he has opened in the 800 at 1:46. So, there's every likelihood he'll be sub 1:45 this year. And didn't Loxsom run a low 1:45 and a 1:16 last year? He too has done very well very recently and the two, with Andrews, Jock, Symmonds, KR, and maybe Wheating will make 800 trials fun.

Lox obviously had a rough indoor season, but he did run a 600 pr in a blazing time, and a solid 800 in the big 10 heats. Not sure what happneed in the final or nats (did he fall?). But he seems like he's still in pretty good shape, so he's not a 0 lately.
Preble is an animal.
People really make over Elijah Greer but they don't really understand how talented Michale Preble is. He was Big 12 Champion in his 2nd year of ever running the event and 2nd in the nation indoors in his 3rd year of ever running the event.
Also he has 46:41 400m speed. I would say our top senior national 800 runners are probably mostly 47 low 400 meter runners with maybe only 2 or 3 at 46 high.
He has real potential

OK, maybe a 1 then.
I failed? Think again. Look at 1:40 (race clock) when Andrews, having moved out to lane 3 to pass Greer in lane 2 moves ahead of him and back into lane 2, causing Greer to slow down and stumble in the last strides. Had Andrews stayed in mid lane 3, Greer would've been under 1:45 solidly.

Did you not see the part where Greer stumbled because he ran into the back of loxsom? That is where the contact was made, not because Andrews cut him off
A&M will win the 4x8 at penn relays this year
400m times from blocks are not so relevant as the 4x400m split.
so, you agree that he stumbled. and andrews forced him to move in, which caused the contact with loxsom.

They certainly have a good shot at it if Oregon doesn't come.
Oregon is going to Penn also. So if they do enter the 4x8 it will be interesting, and depends on who is healthy.
A&M obviously is ready with 4 guys at 1:48 or better.
Oregon has
Greer 1:45
Boru - 1:47
Thompson - 1:47
Russell Hornsby - 1:49
Mac Fleet (if healthy) - 1:49
and their two new freshman who could compete right away
Rich Goodman - 1:52
Freddy Ovett - 1:51
Who are the other strng 4x8 contenders?
Who are the other contenders?

So Cal USATF hds 7 meets last weekend including USC meet and a meet at UCLA. Only an association as massive as So Cal USATF can handle 7 meets on the same weekend. Those who say T&F has a problem with participation should talk with So Cal USATF ;-)
