Has anyone ever used the Nike Mayfly? If so what did you think of them? I'm most worried about the amount of tred. Thanks for your help.

I tried them in a 3mile road relay. Course was dusty and sometimes gravelly tarmac - but they gripped excellently - so no worries about the tred.
Just make sure you try them on befoer you buy - I found the sizing to be quite far out (prob cos of the lack of padding).
Did you have to size up or down in these compared to other shoes?
I had to go down a 1/2 size. The upper is bascially nylon, so fits to your foot like a gloove. Plus you probably won't be wearing socks.
As for the feel of the shoe, the first time i wore them i felt they were way too stiff. But after a one race they felt great. I am not sure i would were them for anything over a 5k though.
they aren't expensive... who gives a f*** if you try them before you buy em
