Many of the real athletes competing indoors are not planning to compete in worlds: Simpson, Uceny, Felix, Harper, Rowbury.... Manzano probably plans to train, as Lemaitre does in France.

Someone should let Bernard know he's not a "real" athlete. Or, maybe he's just doing it for the international experience.

Solomon is sponsored by Saucony. Probably decided not to go out of his own volition. He wants to qualify for the Olympics.

This is just silly. They can't take a weekend of representing their country (not to mention sponsor) by competing in March because it will what? Interfere with their racing in August?

Maybe when Bernie medals indoors and out this year, they'll realize they ought to reevaluate.

Correct. I believe they talked about it- they actually said he'd have to chase the standard, which, of course, is not possible.
