why would they dq a guy in a 5k for stepping outside of the track, its no benefit to the runner, officials need to think through situation and realize that there was no harm done...especially since the kid finishes 5th! Take away his result and give All-American to someone else, harsh!
Considering how much these guys suffered in this 5K today, that really sucks.
there is no bend in the last 100
yeah, could someone explain what really happened here? i'm not too clear about it. thanks in advance!
You Americans a totally f~(?£d up especially the NCAA and I have read about stupid high school rules also where they have not allowed kids to run in races, for Christ-sakes no wounder kids are so fat over there when you do not allow kids to run and put kids off from running with stupid rules like this.
Woolhouse went to pass a lapped runner coming off the bend into his final 100m, the lapped runner moved to the outside of lane 1, woolhouse went to pass on the inside, the guy cut back in, woolhouse stepped outside and took 3 steps to get back iN (he obviously lost his balance) and then ran on in for 5th. DQ. Go figure.
weis looked pissed.
Didn't see it
woolhouse was not passing a lapped runner. He was trying to get by two side by side runners. THought he saw a lane open up in front of him on the inside, but the lane closed up before he got there. Rather than throwing on the brakes and going around on the outside, he stepped off the track.
woolhouse is not american so he cannot be all-america
Nobody DQ the guy who put his arm in front of Woolhouse during the indoor mile final at Arkansas!!! If I remember right he had to stop in his kick and got third one hundredth of second behind second. Everybody knows his kick and everybody try to block him. It is outrageaous and totally against the sport. Anyway, once you get in the last lap everybody knows that is is a big mess especially when you have to pass people that should not have been there if the prelims had taken place. People of the NCAA let's be smart!!!!
I've got news for you, tough guy. First, your spelling is atrocious. Correct it.
Second, stupid rules like this are not what turns kids off to running in the United States. In fact, I'm willing to bet that what turns some kids off to running over in our neck of the woods is fairly consistent with what turns some kids off to running in your neck of the woods. Comprende?
