This is insane. On a flat 200m track. It used to be a weak conference but there are multiple 4:0x milers, 8:0x 3k guys and sub 14:20 guys in there these days!

I'm relieved to see that he obv took it easy on all races except the 800. Good thinking.

Dude, since when was running a 14:30 easy after running a 1:50 only 40 min before and a 4:10 only and hour before that?

Especially when you account for the fact that these were all championship events and the 5000 probably closed in 4:10

I'm assuming altitude as well?

Um, his PRs are 3:57, 7:45 and 13:40. Did I miss something here?

since he got into 13:mid shape?

The amount of times I see this guys name posted and his level of performances, I'm inclined to call posts with his name in them spam.

He didn't have to close in 4:10. This isn't major conference. It's like winning MVC's. Hell no one else ran a 4:10 in the open mile.

He's racing way too much. What's the point. February is not finished yet and he's run.

- 5,000 13:42 and 3,000 7:48 pb double over a weekend

- mile 3:57 PB

- 800 1:50.8 PB, mile, 3,000 and 5,000 (+ heats in the 800) quadruple over a weekend

Now I see that he's scheduled to run the NACAC X country

I just hope that he doesn't decide to double at NCAA, go to world indoors...

Drop the x country, just do the 5,000 at NCAA, don't go to worlds and have a great summer.

Nothing else to prove this winter. Great runner. Impress us over the summer instead.

He has a shot at qualifying for London. Why risk burning out/injuring yourself before London?

Andy Bayer was more impressive scoring 26pts in the big ten meet. W in the mile, W in the 3k and 3rd in the 5k.

The reason he raced so much this weekend is because it helped his team win the meet. Him scoring 40 points had a lot to do with that.

I do agree that Andy Bayer's performance was the better performance of the weekend, though.

Diego Estrada got 4 wins. 800, Mile, 3k, and 5k.

levins can't contend with the big boys at NCAA, he is washed up and untalented. just because he runs 160 miles a week doesnt make him a superstar. god have you seen that atrocious perm he has?

...and where are all the letsrun trolls who bash runners who hardly ever race!!!to the poster, i think your assessment is reasonable. if he gets injured, we could point to this stretch and say that Cam overdid things. on the other hand, if he keeps rolling & has a great summer, letsrunners will play the "it's a good thing he raced a lot to because it gave him experience & prepared him for championship competition & rounds" card.you can't win with this crowd, but whatever. go Cam!

Estrada did not run the 800.

Why would this hurt him? Many of the races were well under his best. It can be seen as a quality track workout.

I hope that I'm wrong. We will see in the next 3 to 4 months. Anyway, what is done is done. I hope that he will be ok. I also hope that he restrains himself a little in the next 4 weeks and has a great summer season...

I sure hope that he doesn't burn out. He's had an amazing indoor season. Let's hope that he gives himself every opportunity to transition into a great outdoor season. Not over racing in the next month will help him in that transition..

The guy runs 160mpw.... the amount of 'racing' he does at the Summit League championships is not going to burn him out. Running 160mpw would probably do that way before running a high volume workout which is basically what he did.

Heard all except 800 were sit and kick style races... doubt it will hurt him much.
