Just curious if anyone has heard a lick about what Wheating may be up to? I haven't seen his name mentioned once this indoor season, and I'm wondering what, or when, we may see him back on the track.
Do people still view him as one of our main 1500 guys for London, or has that all changed since he faltered at the end of last year outdoors?

I doubt you'll see Wheating indoors. Being 6'5" with a huge stride is the problem.
Haven't heard much otherwise. I imagine he'll open up late since he seems to be a little injury prone. Still think he'll top three at Trials, though.
probably jogging 4 min miles in practice.
He tweets on a pretty constant basis but I haven't seen anything concerning upcoming races or future plans.

Too big a contract too easily. Life seemed pretty easy right? A fast 5th place in Monaco and everyone telling him he's a future world and Olympic champion. Not so easy big guy...

Andy's been nicked up since the summer. He's trying really, really hard to get healthy. Let's all wish him well.
Legends only hint at the debaucheries of a Wheating Winter. Don't worry, he'll be in 3:32 shape come April, and thence to peak at 3:29..
It isn't as if he had a bad year last year. He went through the season a bit banged up, and got sick on top of it, still hit some 3:34, 3:35 races, and made World's.
He has had problems with indoor in the past, with his height it isn't suited as well to him and he is likely waiting to debut outdoors, make sure he's healthy this Olympic season.

Mr Wheating is not suited to indoor running. However he is working on straightening his “nicks” out and getting to 100% healthy. He will likely get there. He has a great support team in his family.
And I find his tweets amusing.
Does anyone know if he'll be running at the Pre classic this spring?

Saw him jogging the Eugene bike paths a week ago and them handed out the awards at the local 4 miler. Entertaining experience to say the least.

He ran his best and was injury free when he ran indoors in 2010 and 2009.
