You state you don't have a girlfriend. However, why does that prevent you from getting a date for Valentine's Day? Going out alone on Valentine's Day seems particularly lame.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I work 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM. There are a couple bars (1 sports pub and 1 irish pub) across the street from my place and sometimes after work I grab 1-2 drinks and an app while watching one of the games. Low key. They're not the most hip bars but they are not dives either. Usually have just enough people on a weeknight so that I can get a seat at the bar. Maybe tomorrow would be a good night to stop in.
Don't go alone, bring a wingman. But yes, I'm sure there will be plenty of single girls out looking for romance on V-day.

Heard a guy on the radio last weekend talking about how he loved doing that on VD. He figured if they were in a bar/club without an SO, they probably were bitter and alone and ready for action.
Nobody wants action from a skinny bird chested runner. You are going to get more action getting drunk and messaging porkers on match.com.

An interesting experiment could arise from that. Say you take a random joe on a dating website and he sends out 10-15 random messages to 10 single hotties asking them to go out for a casual (wink wink) date on VD. I'd be willing to bet the outcome would be this guy A) Most definitely gets a date, and B) Has a strong chance of getting laid.
