IU w/ the DMR auto

I think Bayer "only" ran a 3:57, too. Should be fun to watch them mix it up at NCAAs.

And this is a flat track, accords to a 9:27 on an OT or banked 200.

It is banked; very fast track.

They also had a rabbit for their 1200 leg.

Where is Poore? Injured?

Badger distance will still beat them at Big 10's!

Poore is running the 3k today. The plan is for him to do 3k/5k at nats, like last year. He has never (to my knowledge) run the DMR.

It's the same track that used to be in the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, that was used for the Indoor Worlds and multiple indoor NCAA's back over 10 years ago. Indiana University bought it, and laid it on the floor of Gladstein Fieldhouse on top of their old flat track.

so this is the same track used for the 1987 Worlds at the Hoosier Dome? If so that is one OLD track, I ran on that track the first meet it was used for in January 1987

The track was placed in a huge, old warehouse in Plainfield, Indiana and hosted many high school and college races. I remember Mark Jelks showing up late, finished his mcdonalds, and then ran the fastest time in the country for the 200.

The track was moved to the warehouse in Plainfield by Butler to host their indoor meets when NIFS, the site of their previous meets, started to charge too much for rental of their facility. The track just fit around the columns that held the ceiling up which made it very tight for sprinters in lane one. I believe there may have even been a case where a sprinter's shoulder actually hit one of the posts. I belive the track was only there for a year or two before being put back in storage or taken to IU. Oddly enough, I believe IU had just had their suface redone the year before installing the banked track over the top of it.
