YES !!!! The Bullett with the Mullet, Ciaran O Lionaird wins the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in 3:56 over Taylor Milne. Galen Rupp 3rd and Mo Farah 4th after Mo fell early in the race. Awesome race for Mad Len. His first race since joining the Nike Oregon Project and since the 1500 final in Daegu.

Before you crown Milne the next king - he's run 3:36-7 every year since 2008 and is about to hit 30. In other words - PLATEAU.
When I saw that O'Lionaird had run a 48 in practice the other day, I knew that he would be tough to beat in a slow kicker's race like this one. Nice performance. Can he drop significantly from 3:34 this year? Considering that the 3:34 was already a big drop and that he had been a longer distance guy, you'd think there's more to come.

Mo can't hang with milers who've run 48 in the 400 - especially this early in the season. Mo would have been run down on the finish.

I would never bash Magness, but your post doesn't make sense. After Mo fell, Ciaran went from being a toss up to a guarantee for the win pretty much coming off the season he had before moving out to Oregon.
I think Rupp and Farah are at least equally (if not more) fit than O'Lionaird for one mile right now. But they are 10k guys and are going to lose a race that goes out in 2:00. I bet if it was out in 1:57, Farah and Rupp would have gone 1-2.
Rupp clearly has low 3:50s ability if he was to ever train for the mile.

Why are you making excuses for rupp? It was great to see that little twinkle toed brat get crushed. One thing I did notice was his obvious noncongratulatory attitude toward a supposed fellow teammate. He and Farah were downright cold, in fact.
